Foreverfamily is celebrating 35 years of surrounding children of incarcerated parents with the love of family! Join us on Saturday, September 24th at Grant Park for this year’s 5K4Kids race where we will commemorate this milestone. All of the funds raised help keep children connected to their incarcerated parents.

The 5K Run/Walk will begin at 8am, followed by the 1 Mile Fun Run and a Kids Dash for children under 5. Awards will be given for top finishers. All kids will receive a medal.

Run or walk and then have some fun with us! There will be a DJ and a bounce house for the kids plus a special 35th Anniversary photo booth. Breakfast will be served after the race along with other surprises.

Not located in Atlanta? You can still participate! Select the Virtual Option at check-out and run/walk between September 17th and September 23rd wherever you live. Send us a photo and your time (5K4Kids@foreverfam.org) and we’ll celebrate you on race day. Please note that while a t-shirt is included with each race registration, the shipping is an additional fee.

Below is a brief description of ways you can support our 35th Anniversary. Please consider sponsoring a family or making a special contribution in honor of 35 years of service.

Register for the 5K4Kids – Please select this option if you plan to join us in person or virtually for this year’s race.

Sponsor a Family – Please select this option if you’d like to make a $250 donation that specifically keeps a family connected to their incarcerated parent this year. Our kids haven’t seen their parents in person in over two years, yet every month, Foreverfamily pays for them to have video visits, phone calls, and stationary. These services are vital to children’s well-being, but they are very expensive. We also provide families with tablets and internet service to make virtual connections possible. This sponsorship includes 2 race registrations or 2 race t-shirts. If you do not want to register for the race or receive a race t-shirt, please select “Make a Donation” instead.

Make a Donation – there are specific donation amounts or give whatever you’d like. Please select this option if you are not planning to participate in the race and simply want to give.

Sponsor a Family

For 35 years, Foreverfamily has provided transportation for children to visit in person with their incarcerated parents. These visits are critical to the children’s well-being. Due to COVID-19, these visits have been paused. In response, our services have gone virtual. Virtual visits, emails, calls, and letter writing allow our kids to maintain a strong connection with their parents. These services are extremely expensive for families of the incarcerated. Your donation keeps one family connected until prisons resume in-person visitation (post-pandemic). It covers one month of fees for virtual visits, emails, calls, stationery, and internet service and provides the family with a tablet as well.
