Marketa Harris started as an intern with Foreverfamily in 2016. After completing one year she was hired as Program Coordinator for FVP. In this position, she closely worked with the children and families as well as the prisons and other staff members to ensure visitation was the best it could be! After four years as a staff member, she has been promoted to the position of Program Director. ⁠

I see children as an extension of their family. What affects one part of the unit affects all. When a family member goes to prison it causes a disruption in the lives of the entire family unit. I have always admired Foreverfamily’s intergenerational approach to bridging the gap between incarcerated parents and their children. It plays a tremendous part in the children’s life outcomes, as well as, how well parents are able to adjust back to society upon reentry.⁠

As an advocate for children and families, Foreverfamily aligns with her personal values and passions. ⁠

Scott Edlein strives to fight for social justice inequities within our community. I am also blessed to have a wife and 3 great kids who share the same passion. I like to blow off steam by getting out into the woods and taking hikes with my trusted labrador. ⁠

I got involved with Foreverfamily in order to support families who are often estranged by incarceration and to help maintain communication and strong relationships through child/parent prison visits. Foreverfamily supports the whole family affected by incarceration, making a difference in the emotional and mental health of both parent, child, and extended family. Healthy relationships need to be maintained and supported by all loved ones. It is good for everyone, including the community, when those bonds are strong upon the parent's release from prison.⁠
