5K Run around Grant Park

This is a family-friendly event for runners or walkers. All ages and skill levels are welcome. All kids that participate in person will receive a medal.

Toddler Dash 5 years and under

Foreverfamily focuses on providing services that positively impact the entire family. We create a community of support and love for those directly affected by parental incarceration.
Proceeds from the event allow us to connect children to their parents through the Family Visitation Program, providing monthly transportation from Atlanta to prisons across Georgia.

FAQs

5K4Kids will occur rain or shine, so please dress appropriately for the weather. In the event of extreme weather circumstances, please visit our website on the day of the race for weather-related event updates.

Yes, a receipt will be emailed to you after you register that will serve as a confirmation of your registration. The week of the race a reminder email will be sent with additional logistical details (where to park, address, and what to expect).

All races will start and end near the Pavilion. The 1K run is one loop inside the park. The 5K run is three loops of the same route.

We will be set up at the Grant Park Pavilion: down the hill from the Zoo Atlanta parking structure (Grant Park Gateway Parking Facility).  Participants can either sign up or sign in by filling out a form with their name, the race they are running, and signing a liability waiver. They will then be given a race number and t-shirt and be able to mingle before stretching begins at 8:30 AM. 

Parents can pre-register their children or register onsite for the Toddler Dash. Toddler Dash participants must be under the age of 5. All kids will receive a medal for participating. 

The closest spot to park is in the Grant Park Gateway Parking Facility (759 Boulevard SE, Atlanta, GA 30312). As a backup, you can also park in the Zoo Atlanta parking lot on Cherokee Ave (800 Cherokee Ave SE, Atlanta, GA 30315). These are both paid lots ($3/hour). You can also find free street parking on Cherokee Ave and its cross streets.

Virtual participants can run any time from September 23rd-September 30th. We ask virtual participants to submit a race photo to 5k4kids@foreverfam.org. Photos submitted will be shared on our social media pages. T-shirts for virtual race participants will be sent out via mail, starting the week following the race.

Yes, you are allowed to run with your child in a stroller. Take precautions by using a suitable stroller, securing your child with a seatbelt, maintaining proper running form, and staying aware of your surroundings.

Yes, pets are welcome. Because this is a family-friendly event please ensure that your dog is friendly with children and is on a leash at all times. Please also be mindful of other runners.
