The number of women incarcerated in the United States is growing, which means a lot of children are spending this Mother’s Day separated from their mothers.
Katherine Bryant, vice president of consumer advocacy at ChoicePoint, spends much of her free time volunteering for an organization that helps children whose parents are incarcerated. Bryant serves on the board of Foreverfamily, which offers a variety of programs, including after-school care and a summer camp. The organization also takes children to visit their parents in prison.
