Volunteer Opportunities

Foreverfamily is a 31-year-old, Atlanta based non-profit organization that supports children of incarcerated parents. We have planned activities that volunteers can supported listed below but we also tailor volunteer opportunities for individual, family and group volunteers.

Mission: To inspire hope in children of incarcerated mothers and fathers, to strengthen their families, to help the children become successful adults, and to share our considerable experience with communities worldwide to do the same.

FVP (Family Visitation Program)

Every 2nd Saturday (minus the “J” months), 5:30am-6:30pm

Visiting Day News Header March

FVP provides children with the opportunity to visit their parents on a consistent basis, thereby strengthening family bonds. This aids in increasing the children’s self-esteem and improving the likelihood that the children will become successful adults.

Volunteer chaperones commit to a 13-hour day, which includes interacting with the kids on the bus, facilitating activities for parents to do with their children, serving lunch inside the prison, and surrounding kids with love.

Volunteers can also help prepare food and activities the Friday before the trip or help with the monthly birthday party after the trip.
